The field of neuromodulation is advancing rapidly and new therapies are emerging every year. Stimulation systems have been developed that do not require implantation of a battery, but wirelessly communicate with an external unit. There are systems that constantly monitor their output and adjust their stimulation to increase effectiveness and efficiency. Some companies are developing new stimulation waveforms hoping to improve the effectiveness of these therapies. Some systems are early in development and some will almost certainly be approved for use in the near future. The specialist health team at QPain are aware of these systems and are involved in clinical trials.
